May 2018- Alyssa Muceus

Alyssa Muceus- SAOM- May

Alyssa Muceus is a junior at Foster High School in Richmond, Texas. She is the starting catcher for the varsity softball team and has helped lead her team through five rounds of district 27-5A playoffs in her sophomore year.  Alyssa joined the Foster Varsity Softball team in her freshman year and has enjoyed being a part of a team that excels and gets better every year.  Alyssa has received many awards for softball including being named to the District 27-5A First Team and to the All Region 5A Second team as a catcher.  Alyssa and the FHS starting pitcher and good friend, Kacie Pryor, have a great chemistry and have worked well together over the last two years to lead the Foster Falcons to many victories.

Alyssa’s strengths do not only lie on the softball field. Alyssa performs well academically too.  Alyssa is already earning college credit while still in high school by taking Advanced Placement and Dual courses at Foster.  She is in the top ten percent of her class.  Alyssa was recently inducted into the National Honor Society and devotes time to attending the meetings and participating in community service for the organization.  She is also a member of the Peer Assistance and Leadership (PALS) program, which allows her to mentor and guide at risk elementary school students.  Alyssa has volunteered in the Fort Bend County community at places like Lunches of Love, Common Threads, and League of Dreams.  She has been a volunteer assistant coach for her community swim team as well.

Alyssa plans to attend college in the Fall of 2019. She has an interest in the medical field and is considering being a PA for Sports Medicine.  Alyssa would love to continue her softball career in college too.  Although she has not made a decision as to which university she will attend, she has been in contact with several college softball coaches regarding scholarship opportunities.

Alyssa is a hardworking, driven, caring, and talented young lady. She would like to thank her parents, Mike and Courtney, and her brother, Jake, for supporting her in softball, school, and in life.  Alyssa has also been fortunate enough to have many great coaches and teachers that have supported her along the way.  She would like to thank her Foster High School coaches Keely Shuler, Marki Hajdik, and Kenneth Johnson as well as her Katy Cruisers Gold Team coach, Dale Melby, and her hitting coach, Freddy Hinojosa.
