August 2016- Jake Hernandez
RIDGE POINT HIGH SCHOOL
Jake Hernandez is an upcoming senior at Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, TX and a 3-year member of the Ridge Point baseball team.
Standing at 6’2” and weighing 155 pounds, Jake’s primary positions are 3rd Base and Pitcher. On the field, Jake has been able to contribute to the Ridge Point program in multiple ways. Because of his versatility, Jake has served as a true utility player for each of the past three seasons. In addition to 3rd Base and Pitcher, he has also contributed behind the plate, at Short Stop, 1st Base, and Right Field.
At Ridge Point, Jake is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society, PALS, and Young Life. With a 5.2 GPA (weighted), he strives his hardest each and every day to be best he can be both in classroom as well as on the field.
After Jake’s senior year, he aspires to continue his baseball career at the collegiate level. He plans to go out of state for college and major in Hospitality having learned about the industry working for Legends Hospitality at Constellation Field.
Jake would like to thank Coach Clinton Welch for this nomination and also for helping develop him into a better all-around player and person. Jake is looking forward to the upcoming season, and is striving to get on the “air conditioned bus” as Coach Welch would say, and making it to Round Rock for a chance at the 2017 State Championship.
